Nestled on 11th Street in the heart of the West Village, this homeowner’s second home serves as a serene extension of her Scandinavian heritage. Her secondary residence in Stockholm inspired a design approach that harmonizes Nordic simplicity with the charm of New York architecture.
The design reimagines the compact layout through craftsmanship and intentional detailing. Custom wainscoting was installed in both the living room and bedroom, infusing a sense of depth and quiet sophistication. A concealed bookshelf door now leads to the closet, introducing a playful yet seamless architectural feature. The home’s original creaky floors were replaced with elegant oak flooring, bringing warmth and continuity to each space.
