Set on 88th Street in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, this four-bedroom “mansion in the sky” represents Mazen’s first full-scale interior design project and the foundation of his design philosophy. What began as two separate units was transformed into a cohesive, artful home defined by confidence, color, and collaboration. Nearly every element - largely sourced through Roche Bobois - was touched by Mazen’s hand, from the cross-shaped hallway rug that invites guests to the layered palette of jewel tones balanced by crisp whites and greys.

A Maya Romanoff wall covering and curated artwork complete the home’s harmony of texture, light, and silhouette. Initially hesitant toward bold color, the clients came to trust Mazen’s vision through open dialogue, adventure out of comfort zones, and shared understanding of design as storytelling. The result is a refined, livable space that reflects courage and clarity—the very qualities that continue to guide Mazen’s practice today.

The journey through the home begins in a striking cross-shaped hallway anchored by a custom T-shaped rug, subtly guiding movement in main directions. To the left lies the primary bedroom, followed by a short turn into the open living area; to the right, a flexible home office that doubles as a guest suite and a tranquil secondary bedroom. Straight ahead, a streamlined kitchen leads to the formal dining area and, with a quick turn, into a dedicated Mah Jong / TV room designed for relaxed gatherings.
