Dear reader,

Mazen Eshak has been a friend of mine for five years now. His charm, warm personality, and sense of humor are what drew me initially to him as a friend.

Mazen was known as a bon vivant in his hometown of Portland, Oregon where I also lived for nearly a decade. He has a natural gift for bringing people together. His ability to help longtime friends and new acquaintances alike recognize shared interests between each other is a remarkable talent. He helped to foster a sense of community in Portland especially after the pandemic when isolation and self-reliance were the new norms. I would regularly see Mazen receive compliments from passers-by for his outfits and refined sense of personal style. Often, these compliments turned into full blown conversations and suddenly a new person would be joining our table at a restaurant or bar. Mazen has always been able to put people at ease and make them feel welcome.

Over the years, I’ve been able to come to Mazen for advice regarding my relationships and career but also for all the important questions related to homemaking, style, and fashion. Whether it’s a question on how to set up my home bar, where to position the couch in my new apartment living room, or what I should wear to a wedding, I can always rely on Mazen for an excellent suggestion.

I know first hand from dropping by when Mazen tended bar in Portland, that he’s a true professional and can remain calm under pressure. He also makes an excellent cocktail! When Mazen moved to New York, I was excited to see him apply his strong work ethic and talents to a new endeavor working at Roche Bobois. I can always rely on Mazen and know that he has the dedication and drive to accomplish whatever projects he sets his mind to!

Please reach out with any questions. Thank you.

Mark Steele
